Monday, Monday

A day which revealed that at one time Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain said, "Let me show you a real stimulus package".
Monday is most people's least favorite day.  "Don't buy a Ford made on a Monday", they used to say.  They being the majority of adults who were full of shit when I was young.

Then the 60s came along and Monday was a hook to a song to which you could get high and sing about with The Mamas & The Papas.

Today's Monday ended sadly for me when I came home from the bowling match to learn that "Smokin" Joe Frazier had passed away to cancer.  He is so linked with the 60s and my childhood he evokes such strong memories.  A praiseworthy champion boxer in every way, he never could ditch the shadow of his nemesis, Mohamed Ali.  Which begs the question, could Cassius Marcellus Clay change his name in today's world?  Oh, pooh, never mind the fact that Clay was named for a prominent slave owner.  Would the world's most famous athlete be ran out of the country in today's political climate.  Anyway, RIP Joe Frazier, keep on smokin', you will be missed.

Please remember it's Veteran's Day this week, and besides there not being mail delivery you should remember or give pause to be thankful that many brave people have sacrificed their all to give you the blessing you enjoy in our great country.  In Russia I would have to publish this blog on the side of a broad aspen tree.  So thank you to my dad, father-in-law, brother, son and daughter-in-law for being veterans and doing what you could.

Peace, Mike

P.S. Thanks to Loa Cheney, I spell checked this and didn't get one hit.
P.P.S.  You have to read this if you are a San-peter. San-petite Homes
