The Anti-Romney

This week's anti-Romney is Newt Gingrich.  I'm not joking.  I've dissed other potential challengers to Romney for being dim (Cain), fake (Perry) and crazy (Wild eyed Bachmann).  Newt is a different kettle of fish however.  He fancies himself as a great thinker of great conservative ideas, but I say plainly he is a lying, despicable son-of-a-bitch.

What is really disheartening is that the Republicans cannot come up with a serious candidate.  As much as I dislike Romney's flip-flopping he remains the most reasonable alternative to re-electing President Obama.  I miss they days of solid Republicans like Ronald Reagan, who I voted for twice and George H.W. Bush, whom I thought was a decent man and the real deal.  My big fear is that if selected by the Republicans as their candidate he will have to choose a "crazy" as his running mate to win over the Christian conservatives in the Bible Belt.  They do not like Romney at all.  So look for a VP choice such as Santorum (warning: Do NOT Google Santorum) or Haley Barbour.

I haven't said much about OWS, Occupy Wall Street out of ignorance on the subject.  I maintain that position but learned much from the respected Forbes magazine.  This may remind you of the same thing it does me....mainly, the marching and protests against the Vietnam war.  Why it reminds me of that is beyond me.  The draft was abolished when I was 18 and I had no inkling to join enter the military...well, maybe a little.  I remember it well, if you remember it personally you are old, but wise.

In other important news: UTES WIN.  Ugly, ugly, ugly WIN.
As I type, USC and Oregon are on ABC, a foreshadowing of Utah Football fame.

God bless and goodnight.
Mike
